Darlene believes the act of journaling has therapeutic, stress reducing powers, and is passionate about helping others find the freedom to express themselves within the pages of a personal journal. She creates her own unique journals using recycled books, papers and fabrics.

Not only does she love to create journals, her passion for recycling and recreating has taken her on another path learning the ‘Art of Cartonnage’; making fabric covered boxes. She has become a certified instructor and teaches classes using the techniques of Cartonnage.

She is also a dedicated contributor to the local creative community and is currently a member of Shoreline Artists, an inclusive and supportive group of local artists who encourage the creation, appreciation and exhibition of work by its members and the CBBAG - Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild.

You can find my journals in the Southampton Arts Centre gallery in Southampton, ON, and at local studio tours and Shoreline Artists events.

You can also find a variety of tutorials and how-to videos on her YouTube channel, as well as many inspirational photos of her work on her Instagram and Facebook accounts @darlenescreativestudio
